Arrangements for 2009 - 10Club arrangements for the second term of the academic year 2009 - 10 are outlined below.
The Homework Club is available for Primary Four - Primary Seven pupils each day ( Monday - Thursday ) from 3.15pm to 4.15pm. The club is organised and staffed by Learning Assistants from the school. All pupils who attend the club receive a free healthy snack prior to the commencement of the club. This is followed by support for both written and reading homework. While every support is given to the pupils who attend the club it is parents' responsibility to ensure that the entire nightly homework is completed. Further information is available from Mrs Parke.
The P3 club operates from Monday - Wednesday and it takes place from 2.30pm - 3.30pm. The club is part of our extended schools programme and it is staffed by Miss Harkin and Miss Brown.
A boxing club ( non - contact ) will operate each Wednesday afternoon from 3pm - 4pm. This club is open to primary 6 and primary 7 pupils. The club will be run by coaches from the Springtown Boxing Club.
The Art club is run by Mrs Mc Grellis and Mrs Cosgrove in our nursery unit. The club will operate on Tuesday afternoons from 3.15pm until 4pm. Further details are available from the teachers involved.
The netball club organised by Miss Boyle, Miss Gallagher and Mrs Higgins takes place in the school assembly hall on Monday afternoons from 3.15pm until 4.15pm. The netball club caters for Primary Six and Seven pupils. Further details are available from any of the leaders.
As part of our Extended Schools programme we will be operating a Reading Centre Support club for pupils. This club will cater for pupils from a range of year groups and it will run each Thursday from 3pm until 4.30pm. The club will be run by Mrs. Boggs and Mrs. Stephenson.
A Spanish club operates in the school each Wednesday from 3pm - 4pm. This club is provided by Miss Morrison and further information is available from Miss Morrsion.
Holy Family Drama Club is available to P4 - P7 pupils. The club is run by Miss Alisha Doherty, a fully qualfied speech and drama teacher. This club is being provided as part of our Extended Schools programme. the club runs every Saturday morning from 10am - 11am
The school soccer club is coached and managed by Mr. Doherty. The club members help to populate the school team and the team takes part in the First Division of the Derry Primary Schools' League. The team normally plays on a forthnightly basis. The club will normally play or train on Wednesday and a Friday.
The school choir is open to pupils from Primary Four to Primary Seven. The choir normally practice each Wednesday from 3pm - 4pm. The choir is managed and developed by Mrs. Doherty in conjunction with Mrs Mc Kinney. Choir practice will increase as competition or performances approach. Further information is available from Mrs Doherty.
An indoor football club operates for Primary Six and Primary Seven pupils each Friday in the school. The club operates from 3pm - 4.15pm and is organised and managed by Mr. Matthewson.
The P2 club operates from 2.30pm - 3.30pm each Thursday and Friday afternoon. The pupils will be involved in Art and Play activities within the club. The club is provided as part of our extended schools programme and it is staffed by Miss Harkin and Miss Brown. | ||
